The Eternal Flame  -Jwala ji Temple 





Location - Kangra, Himachal Pradesh

Throughout the year , people come to visit Jwala ji Temple of kangra to seek blessings from the Goddess. In the Center of the temple , A hollowed Stone holds a flame that has been burning from hundreds of year.According to the Legend Lord Shiva's Wife , SATI , immolated herself  in anguish when her father disrespected her husband , A furious Shiva dance the Tandav Nritiya  carrying the burned corpse , In Doing so She fell in 51 parts and landed on Earth . Each of these locations turned into religious shrines of Hindus , The Jwala ji of Kangra is believed to be Sati's fiery Tongue . see more





The Unknown Metal ! 


During the reign of Akbar , He learned about the legends of Jwalamukhi , In fit of anger , He tried to douse the eternal flames of jwala ji with a stream of water . , The Great Power Of The Goddess Still kept the flames burning realizing the power of jwala devi , Akbar Came to the temple with his Army . He brought a gold umbrella (chattar) For the Goddess But on offering the umbrella turned into an unknown metal suggesting that the goddess did not accepted his offerings.
